Prayers for Batman Movie Victims
I’ve been a long time fan of superheroes, and I plan to see The Dark Knight Rises as soon as I have the chance. Arkham City is one of my favorite video games, dueling with Skyrim for the title in most weeks. I remember thinking when I got home from work last night, “Wow, in just a few hours, people will be seeing the new Batman movie.”
As I’m sure most of you know, someone attacked moviegoers in Colorado last night and killed a dozen and injured many more, as much as 50 people according to some reports.
I could have been one of those people. It’s the sort of movie that I could see taking my daughter to when she’s much much older. So many of my friends would have considered going to a midnight showing in their cities. I’m sure that some of them did.
I hope that the survivors can recover not only from the physical wounds but from the emotional scars. I hope they can go to a movie again one day without fear. I hope they can buy a Batman comic book and enjoy the Dark Knight protecting Gotham. Unfortunately, I’m sure it’s going to take a long time.
And for the victims and their families, I’m so very sorry for their loss.
If you have a moment, please consider saying a prayer today for those people and their families.
